There’s an Elf amongst my ornaments…
beside my porcelain doll,
it’s hanging by a carousel,
where next may not be droll.
***
There’s an Elf upon my Freezer,
Hiding by the grog!
Snuggled in a bowl of gemstones,
Now it’s sitting on a log.
***
There’s an Elf hiding in the schoolroom,
crouched beside the printer,
Balanced on a library book,
Let’s hope that shelf doesn’t leave a splinter!
***
There’s an Elf amongst the basketballs!
And now they’re in a shoe!
It’s hiding amongst the teddy bears,
Where next who has a clue!
***
We’ve found him in a tissue box,
And sitting by the keys,
They’ve hidden in a watering can,
Does this Elf just do as they please?
***
There’s an Elf upon an Emu egg!
Let’s hope it doesn’t crack!
And hiding in a box of candles,
Look they’re on the reindeer’s back!
***
There’s an Elf hanging on the garland,
And one stuck in the blinds!
Hiding in the children’s wardrobe,
Out to enchant their growing minds.
***
There’s an Elf amongst the cookies,
Awaiting Santa Clause,
Upon their return next Christmas season,
There’s bound to be applause.
