Daily writing prompt
How do significant life events or the passage of time influence your perspective on life?
In a quiet spot in the Australian Outback; rooted deep into the red sandy soil,
One happens upon a massive tree whose branches into the clearest of blue skies coil…
It’s grandeur compared to all around holds you in awe of it’s very existence,
Curiosity enticing you closer ‘till your whole vision is engulfed by your view of this tree,
It’s aura ’tis ancient, obviously woody, yet calming~inviting you energetically to just take this moment to be…
Thus standing beside this mighty being you feel your breath and pulse begin to effortlessly slow,
As your mind begins to wander thru what stories a tree this old would delight to bestow,
All other thoughts diminishing as one relaxes into what you believe to be imaginations realm;
Delving through what one perceives as how this trees life may have perhaps unfurled,
From the moment the seed it was; spilt to allow the first tender root and leaf to sprout from curled…
You feel your palm meet the trunk of that once sproutling and become aware of a different time,
One not measured with clocks but moments that flow with no schedules or metallic chime,
Whilst a dry dusty breeze blows through ones hair and the leaves rustle seraphically akin a rhyme,
Melting the remaining blockages between yourself and your thoughts of this tree sublime,
Growing further along what may have been it’s path to one’s current moment’s climb.
For a lifetime beyond one’s human perspective has woven this tree into what you see right now,
Many hot summer winds have burned it’s shoots ~ stray bolts of lightning burned too many a bough,
Wild storms have left it with branches cracked, leaves/blossoms/seed pods blown beyond perception,
Roots quenched past their limit after being deprived through droughts lack of precipitation,
Triggering something deep within to evolve with greater strength ~ slowly enduring a season of transmutation…
‘Till you realise this sentient being relays it’s story not in words but your feelings and it’s scars abundant,
It’s blossoms showing all it’s ability to not just survive but thrive beyond what would make others redundant,
It’s existence a living reminder of life quintessentially blooming beyond challenges transcendence,
Whilst it’s energetic embrace holds all whom venture in a moment of calm; soothing all that’s tense,
Filtering the elements ‘fore they reach so one needn’t endure unnecessarily beyond this moment hence.
Thus how the suns light that shines through their leaves gains a softer vibration that’s healing,
Warming one’s soul rather than burning your face ~ protecting you from a painful sunburn peeling,
Defining space to relieve what weighs on your mind/ that which leaves your heart reeling,
Grounding you back into alignment with our earth allowing joy and hope to once again be your feeling,
Instead of overwhelming chaos and stress challenging bliss for all your moments they shouldn’t be stealing.
Therefore while your life may feel in a constant bounce of tasks; perhaps let this tree have taught you this:
In the flow of your lifetime completing your to do list is but a minor component competing with bliss,
Most of it near irrelevant to your life overall ~ thus why strive through it all every single day?
Rather than being a little more mindful, lucubrating that which does matter a little more thorough.
Creating space for a little more grace for oneself to flow through ones day tomorrow.
