A Life of Design

When one truly lives a life they love,
They can reach a point where they stagnate to strive,
This is when we start seeking out faults and challenges,
For stagnation can stop us from feeling completely alive…

Though what if one were to design a life one loves,
In a way that allows one to grow and be challenged as need be?
The too few of us living life to our own design would be the first to admit,
It’s perfectly possible in today's world to not just do this but to adjust it unlimitedly.

However, ‘tis no easy path for one to create a life of design,
And the challenges of it shall differ greatly between yours and mine,
Though ’tis always worth the end result to have endured and overcome rather than resign,
For staying in a stagnating and ungratifying lifestyle is never fine.

Thus why we often seek out or be otherwise forced to change our lives,
Seemingly external forces find our leverage points and take their dives,
To force us into rather dramatic evolution ’tis for all it strives,
So we can live a life closer into alignment of where our core thrives!

Yet to create a life of design ’tis not a task to attempt alone,
One will need to seek out support and guidance to succeed,
The right support for you however will reveal itself in your moment of need,
It won’t magically appear like a genie from a fast going flat smartphone.

Despite one’s wish to design their lifestyle urgently with haste,
’Tis a long process one will need to take time to complete with diligence,
And while here at the poetic life 2.0 we can provide a supportive stance,
It only contains mere elements of what into successful lifestyle design one’s required to interlace.

Upon a Summers Eve

If one were to venture into the outback upon a starlit night,
One would find ‘tis alive with more than mosquitoes that bite,
For the outback is more awake during a summers night than the day,
As the earth cools a fragment and the wildlife all come out to play…

Kangaroo’s and other herbivores venture to roadsides for a mouthful of the greenest grass,
Often with minimal acknowledgment of the vehicles that may pass,
Whilst pigs root around annoying many a home bound dog,
And nightlights attract Insects to the delight of both gecko and frog.

Rodents hop and scamper trying to find their own feast,
Though they’re on the radar of cat, snake and owl at the least,
Despite being cute the likes of the kultar can be a formidable little beast,
When caught by an unknowing opponent who thinks their own hunger’s to be ceased.

The plants enjoy a touch of reprieve from the heat,
After blistering sun rays have all day long on them beat,
The cool of the moon and the bright twinkling stars,
Providing their enchantment to all whom need venture out often in cars…

For though the outback ‘tis always a rather magical place,
Upon a summers eve is certainly near always the case,
When all whom hide from the heat of each scorching hot day,
Come out into the night to do what they need ‘neath the stunning display of the milky way…

A Meditative Poetic Moment of Christmas Magic

Adjourn below to listen rather than read

Welcome to this meditative moment of Christmas magic!
Thus close your eyes a moment and take a slow deep breath - let the chaos blur,
‘Till ’tis but the white noise of life in the background… Equally slowly release your breath.
Allowing it to blow away the dense stresses you’ve been bottling away inside to stir…

Now picture a big beautiful Christmas tree,
Laden with an abundance of decorations and twinkling lights,
There’s a huge pile of perfectly wrapped gifts placed beneath,
And the atmosphere is enhanced with quiet carols and smells of fresh baked delights.

The scene is one certainly festively seraphic,
Though for too many getting it to this point can be nothing short of graphic,
To pull it together amongst budgets, kids schedules and crazy traffic,
Making reaching this moment with minimal broken nothing short of terrific!

Thus raise a glass to yourself and enjoy a treat!
You’ve earned it for enduring through creating this scene so sweet,
Knowing that very soon it shall look polar opposite to this neat,
But the magic is that you can smile and enjoy the next elements feat.

For as those you love gather round and find their comfy place,
Excitement and anticipation weave into the seraphic atmosphere their taste,
Children’s increasing enthusiasm ripples from their little bodies like a lidless glitter jar,
Dissolving any grinchiness in those nearby them lackadaisically basking in the tree-lights star.

The first gift is all not a moment too soon passed to a child,
They rip the wrapping paper off - confettiing it in an excited manner far from mild,
Their eyes sparkling as they reveal the before unknown gift that was hidden away,
Then becoming impatient for the next gift and the chance with this new item to play.

You look on as the children continue ripping paper from presents,
The mess all the paper is making starts creating an element of frustration within,
You put in all that work and now it is hard to focus on allowing their overflowing delight to win,
Thus you take a moment to breathe, though in releasing your growing frustration it barely dents.

Then as if divinely guided your focus shifts to the still on gifts paper,
Almost in a slowed trance you watch others peel back tape and unfold precise creases,
The confetti soon seems irrelevant - the messes hold on you lessens ‘fore it altogether ceases,
Returning the magical element to this once again joyful quintessentially Christmas caper.

Thus present vie present you watch layer by layer of gifts well wrapped be unveiled,
With each passing moment your ability to care for the mess dissolves into the abyss it’s now sailed,
The twinkle of lights glimmer off the red of your wine - whilst the brandied fruit cake aroma aligns and blends,
’Tis fast evolving into a more than magical moment of bliss around this tree with your family and friends.

You’re soon passed a gift thus peel back the tape / untie the curled ribbon with a touch of care,
Thoughts venturing to Christmas’s past when you were one of the kids ripping through the paper with flair,
And how you’ve evolved through your life's many challenges to come to this point of such expected decorum,
Creates a sense of wonder and reflection whilst you devour a chocolate ball infused with a touch of rum.

Eventually the chaos of this Christmas moment subsides - all dissipating to their next element of the day,
You take a long deep breath and slowly survey the once perfectly pristine room,
It’s still there despite it’s post apocalyptic, wrapping paper and packaging explosion resemblance,
Thus as you tidy you guide your thoughts to all the joy the paper unveiled rather than the task at hands gloom…

For like every day of life Christmastime also needs to be kept within it’s balance,
Overdone festivities without moments to breathe and realign are bound to create overwhelm within,
Thus is why a task like picking up gift wrappings or clearing the table with maybe only one or two other people is vital,
It can make all the difference to ones holiday seasons mental survival…

And eventually when the paper is cleared and the delightful picturesque Christmas scene returns,
You can just soak in the all the warmth and bliss this seraphic festive environment has left to offer you,
Before adjourning lackadaisically to your own next element this Christmas has in store,
Whilst noting ’tis never a quiet idea to gift a child of any age something like a kazoo!

Thus back into this holiday a touch renewed you can now go,
Irrespective it be one pristine/ sandy/ dust filled or covered in snow,
Knowing the balance you can create throughout the upcoming year,
’Tis possibly the greatest gift one can impart to another dear.

I do hope you have enjoyed this Christmastime moment
and have a harmonious as possible festive season!

Experience added bliss through the guided variation below:

A mini mindful moment at the whims of a breeze

Picture a moment a huge wattle covered in bumblebee style blossoms,
But it’s late in the season and the slightest bump or breeze makes them fall…
The wind starts picking up creating a delightful blossom fuzz ‘snow’,
Mesmerised you watch them float towards the ground as the wind plays,
For this delicate dance ’tis one of natures more quintessential forays…

Ever gently one fluffy yellow segment floats onto your hand,
’Tis like holding the tiniest of delicate feathers you’ve ever seen,
Created by the same force of nature that is known for destruction,
Thus pondering this polarity you watch the breeze pick it up once again,
And allow it to whisk away the debris you’re holding without strain.

This gentle wisp of breeze now continues its seraphic mission,
Blowing segment by segment each blossom from the tree,
And energetic element by element from your auras debris,
Easing your mind of the grasp of the days stresses demolition,
Allowing space for you to heal your soul - grounded with volition…

As the unseen weight of energetic debris lifts from your being,
You note the new vibrance of the wattle seemingly restored,
Though it may be just your perspective as you notice leaves before now ignored,
Contemplating what of you can now be seen that’s imploring for healing,
You venture from this moment with a much lighter feeling.

~ A note for those wondering; no the picture is not wattle… ’tis mulga… one of the wattles outback ‘cousins’. 🙂

The Elf that Ventured to School

Once ’twas a mischievous elf,
Whom had a schoolroom to himself,
He thought it was a bundle of fun,
To watch sparkling red glitter glue run!

He hid amongst dictionaries and other books,
Enjoyed the element of surprise he had in other nooks,
Left kids notes and symbols with many a pen,
Whilst creating his little unique trail of mayhem…

For he created confetti snow and had wild parties with toys,
This Elf on the Shelf's wanting to be a children’s delight,
Gaming on the computers, solving Christmas equations,
And generally enjoying his schoolroom fortnight…

The children however thought he’d gone nuts,
Their annual game of find the elf had turned to guessing “what’s he doing next?”
For when an elf decides to attempt baking a birthday cake,
The results can leave some slightly perplexed…

Eventually the school year finally found it’s end,
The Elf returning to his expected plans to create fun,
Hiding amongst the baubles on the tree and riding on the deer,
Doing his bit to inspire a daily element of Christmas cheer.

Why We Leave The Seraphic

On our paths we often find ourselves facing many a challenge,
For life would be rather monotonous near boring if there were none,
Though we may prefer the easy routes within our comfort zones,
That can actually distance us from our core path and a lot of fun.

For if life were all seraphic moments of bliss with cake and tea,
We’d never grow to grasp the chaotic adventures that await,
Never know the full intensity of what life can have in store for us,
Never experience the ecstatic moments that exist ‘till it’s too late.

Thus why we’re often encouraged to get out of our comfort zone,
By those whom have often already experienced what they’re asking of us alone,
It’s an invitation to become exposed to a new element though you may groan,
For those open to flow lead more fulfilling lives than those mentally set in stone.

Which is why we leave the seraphic on new adventures from time to time,
Though we believe we prefer the mundane bliss to be sublime,
It’s monotony can stagnate our ability to grow and entwine,
With the elements we need to thrive and bloom into ourselves in kind.

Caught in the Unknown…

When we get an amazing idea we desire to create,
We can be tempted to dive straight in without much thought…
However this may be the worst thing we can do for our ideas,
As when this occurs often in the unknown we can find ourselves caught…

For even our most simple ideas can have elements unknown,
Like if we decide to just wake up and go on an adventure and don’t check the weather,
Get half way to an off grid destination and a storm hit to us unexpectedly,
One’s then stuck with an extra muddy challenge to get home or there.

Thus is why every idea requires an element of research,
Some time to ponder our options and create a doable plan,
Before we jump in and take action to bring our ideas into reality,
Rather than make a mess of what could be something unworthy of the dustpan.

The element however need be just that - an element,
For when a single element takes over an idea ’tis equally tragic,
Irrespective be it research, or creating, or something else important,
If we loose our balance we’re still caught in the unknown, never knowing of what could be it’s whole magic…

So for those with an idea they long to bring to life,
Remember to keep it in balance ~ seek support if need be to stay out of strife,
And for those already lost in minds abyss from diving in to their ideas too soon,
We’ve all been there… thus finding a supporting element may be what pulls it through!

Challenge of a habit…

When one endeavors to change a habit,
We often waiver and then fall flat…
Yet what if we were to then pick ourselves up - try to implant the habit again,
Rather than leaving it on the ‘ain’t happening’ mat…

Often we hear the lines ‘don’t give up’ and ‘Keep trying you’ll get it next time’,
When struggling through trying to achieve something big or new,
Why not for habits we’re trying to implant in our day to make our lives better?
They can be just as hard - thus all the more needing of the encouragement too.

For sometimes when we’re attempting to change our lives,
What we’re replacing does its best to survive ‘fore the new thrives,
Creating many a challenge we’re often underprepared to face,
Especially if ’tis a new years resolution lackadaisically in place…

Yet when one does keep trying to create said new habit,
One may have times when they feel a bit like a rabbit,
Bouncing erratically between the old and the new,
Until finally the desired element breaks its way through!

Thus to those in this world trying to change their lifestyle,
Be patient, keep trying ~ for habit implementation can take a while,
’Tis not simply a seraphic moment of one making a decision to compile,
An element into ones day with a word and a smile;

For the greatest challenge of a habit ’tis getting it to stick,
Otherwise its nothing more than trying something out for a bit,
Yet we often find even months in falling back into the old’s comfort,
That we’re going to be struggling for a longer while with it…

Remember though ’tis what one shall gain in the end,
Once the new element is implemented fully as a habit my friend,
That shall make ones evolution through the many challenges great,
All worth the mayhem and discomfort to change the path to life’s fate.

A Mini Mindful Moment Caught in a Spring Shower

Imagine for this moment…
You’re walking through a grove of trees,
Whom are gently swaying in the breeze,
Whilst a bird is sweetly chirping the song of its choice,
All seems near too seraphic as you ponder whatever you please…

The sky though not clear isn’t concerning,
Yet the trees seem to smell stronger than one expected,
You walk on for this moment ’tis what you seem to be yearning,
As you enjoy this time for your mind to find your soul reflected…

Thus as you’re engulfed in your thoughts and the scene of your walk,
You’ve no way to notice the erratic raindrops upon the path,
Or the birds falling silent as the trees seem a message to talk,
That all should seek shelter or become prey to natures wrath…

As the sky begins to open up with a delightful sprinkling of rain,
Each droplet so gently lands upon its mark as if designated,
You stand still - letting each raindrop quench your soul of any pain,
‘Fore it starts washing away debris that blocks that which is fated…

To Discovering Bliss!

If one were to stay in their comfort zone,
One may wake up a morning to find they’re alone,
Left behind by all once loved whom took a chance,
In the game of life’s ever evolving dance…

Wondering how one could have been so comfortably kind,
Happy in the moment one chose to stay behind,
Never doubting one could live life this way,
Expecting all to follow the example to stagnate and play…

However ’tis not the way humans are designed to be,
We’re curious creators/innovators designed to walk freely,
Connected to Mother Nature in all that we do,
Not shutting away our minds all day through.

Thus as we evolve through our lives never knowing,
Precisely what it is each moment may be stowing,
Despite crafting each moment from the one before,
In a domino effect with possibilities galore!

So as we take a leap of faith and switch off the TV,
Exploring our minds to discover our bliss naturally,
We attract a new vibrance to our mundane lives,
As we create ourselves into a being that truly thrives!
