A Meditative Poetic Moment of Christmas Magic

Adjourn below to listen rather than read

Welcome to this meditative moment of Christmas magic!
Thus close your eyes a moment and take a slow deep breath - let the chaos blur,
‘Till ’tis but the white noise of life in the background… Equally slowly release your breath.
Allowing it to blow away the dense stresses you’ve been bottling away inside to stir…

Now picture a big beautiful Christmas tree,
Laden with an abundance of decorations and twinkling lights,
There’s a huge pile of perfectly wrapped gifts placed beneath,
And the atmosphere is enhanced with quiet carols and smells of fresh baked delights.

The scene is one certainly festively seraphic,
Though for too many getting it to this point can be nothing short of graphic,
To pull it together amongst budgets, kids schedules and crazy traffic,
Making reaching this moment with minimal broken nothing short of terrific!

Thus raise a glass to yourself and enjoy a treat!
You’ve earned it for enduring through creating this scene so sweet,
Knowing that very soon it shall look polar opposite to this neat,
But the magic is that you can smile and enjoy the next elements feat.

For as those you love gather round and find their comfy place,
Excitement and anticipation weave into the seraphic atmosphere their taste,
Children’s increasing enthusiasm ripples from their little bodies like a lidless glitter jar,
Dissolving any grinchiness in those nearby them lackadaisically basking in the tree-lights star.

The first gift is all not a moment too soon passed to a child,
They rip the wrapping paper off - confettiing it in an excited manner far from mild,
Their eyes sparkling as they reveal the before unknown gift that was hidden away,
Then becoming impatient for the next gift and the chance with this new item to play.

You look on as the children continue ripping paper from presents,
The mess all the paper is making starts creating an element of frustration within,
You put in all that work and now it is hard to focus on allowing their overflowing delight to win,
Thus you take a moment to breathe, though in releasing your growing frustration it barely dents.

Then as if divinely guided your focus shifts to the still on gifts paper,
Almost in a slowed trance you watch others peel back tape and unfold precise creases,
The confetti soon seems irrelevant - the messes hold on you lessens ‘fore it altogether ceases,
Returning the magical element to this once again joyful quintessentially Christmas caper.

Thus present vie present you watch layer by layer of gifts well wrapped be unveiled,
With each passing moment your ability to care for the mess dissolves into the abyss it’s now sailed,
The twinkle of lights glimmer off the red of your wine - whilst the brandied fruit cake aroma aligns and blends,
’Tis fast evolving into a more than magical moment of bliss around this tree with your family and friends.

You’re soon passed a gift thus peel back the tape / untie the curled ribbon with a touch of care,
Thoughts venturing to Christmas’s past when you were one of the kids ripping through the paper with flair,
And how you’ve evolved through your life's many challenges to come to this point of such expected decorum,
Creates a sense of wonder and reflection whilst you devour a chocolate ball infused with a touch of rum.

Eventually the chaos of this Christmas moment subsides - all dissipating to their next element of the day,
You take a long deep breath and slowly survey the once perfectly pristine room,
It’s still there despite it’s post apocalyptic, wrapping paper and packaging explosion resemblance,
Thus as you tidy you guide your thoughts to all the joy the paper unveiled rather than the task at hands gloom…

For like every day of life Christmastime also needs to be kept within it’s balance,
Overdone festivities without moments to breathe and realign are bound to create overwhelm within,
Thus is why a task like picking up gift wrappings or clearing the table with maybe only one or two other people is vital,
It can make all the difference to ones holiday seasons mental survival…

And eventually when the paper is cleared and the delightful picturesque Christmas scene returns,
You can just soak in the all the warmth and bliss this seraphic festive environment has left to offer you,
Before adjourning lackadaisically to your own next element this Christmas has in store,
Whilst noting ’tis never a quiet idea to gift a child of any age something like a kazoo!

Thus back into this holiday a touch renewed you can now go,
Irrespective it be one pristine/ sandy/ dust filled or covered in snow,
Knowing the balance you can create throughout the upcoming year,
’Tis possibly the greatest gift one can impart to another dear.

I do hope you have enjoyed this Christmastime moment
and have a harmonious as possible festive season!

Experience added bliss through the guided variation below:

New Years Pep Talk

Well, the new year ’tis now here,
‘Tis time to stop procrastinating my dear,
Get on out and achieve your goals,
Live your dreams, succeed in thy roles,
Make a realistic new years resolution,
Perhaps even study at a new institution?

Whatever it may just happen to be,
Do your best to do it correctly,
For if you don't give it your all,
Less will catch you if you fall,
So pack away that christmas tree,
'N' get doing what makes you happy.

However, don't forget to find,
Time each day to relax, heal & unwind,
Otherwise you'll just burn right out,
Be so overloaded you'll scream 'n' shout,
Thus take time enjoying the little things,
You'll be amazed at the good it brings.

Now off you go, ignite that mind,
Rise up above your daily grind,
Spend time with friends, get some sun,
Before you know this new year'll be done,
Life is short so don't you quit,
Find your groove and go for it!

Tìoraidh 2023!

Tìoraidh 2023! We’re glad to see you end!
Though I am sure you’ve had some positive moments somewhere,
More than your allocated mayhem did you send,
You’ve blown people apart in more ways than can be counted,
And rippled disasters globally like dominoes upon a slimy bend.

I know I’m not the only one that prays in their way for 2024,
For all the pain and mayhem you, 2023 have contained,
To swiftly find their way with you out the door,
Though reality brings the fact that January 1st is just but a day,
It does however bring a glimmer of possibility… of hope… that sweeter times may grace the floor.

And so we welcome forth 2024’s blank slate,
Hoping Mercury’s retrograde mayhem be just the first thing to turn right,
And that there be so many more things you shift towards green pastures gate,
Showing lives around this exhausted planet towards reprieve,
Before that which we’ve been enduring takes its toll making you too late.

‘Fore most of us can’t take much more,
Of what we’ve been served in this past few years,
Despite our evolution, our growth, our enlightenment to what we can do galore,
We are still human thus have limits to what we can actually survive,
Before we can no longer spread our wings to soar!

Thus please just bring forth 2024’s lineup already!
Though may it please be a year to bring the past few into balance,
Bringing prosperity and peace with a harmonious beat and a lighthearted melody,
A whole year inspiring worldwide bliss, love and gratitude towards the lives we live,
With a positive abundant flow for all to be equally heavy and steady.

🙂 HAVE A REJUVENATING NEW YEAR OF BLESSINGS EVERYONE!!

The Bushman’s Christmas Surprise.

Christmas ’twas mere days away,
As the Bushman sat present wrapping,
Singing classic Christmas carols,
To which his foot ’twas tapping.

When something through a window,
Distracted his concentrating eye,
Curiously the Bushman ventured closer,
As his startled horse reared to the sky.

There on his verandah stood,
Much to the Bushman’s surprise,
A six foot plus white kangaroo,
With piercing sky blue eyes.

Not far away ’twas another,
Whose leg appeared to be injured,
Then a third wearing a harness,
Made the scene seem completely absurd!

Three snowy white kangaroos,
The Bushman thought he was dreaming!
’Till he tripped over his poor dogs tail,
Whom let out his version of surprised screaming.

Then up hopped a fourth kangaroo,
To see what had caused all the matter,
A fifth dragging a leather strap,
Followed with a bit of a clatter.

The Bushman looked from roo to roo,
Trying to figure it all out,
When a large man in a big red suit,
Came out of the bush giving a shout:

‘Ho, Ho, Hello there my friend.
My aircraft’s crashed just through there,
Most of my boomers got away okay,
But could you help me get back in the air?’

The Bushman couldn’t believe his eye’s,
Here was Santa asking for his help,
‘Certainly’ was all he could manage to say,
Whilst his dog gave him an encouraging yelp.

Not too far off the Bushman’s homestead,
Santa’s sleigh ’twas caught up in the top of a gumtree,
A sixth kangaroo in a harness was dangling,
Thus getting him down unscathed was the key.

The Bushman soon knew what to do,
Dashed back home to get some supplies,
Whilst a flock of birds in the trees overhead,
Sang loudly their mocking song cries.

‘Twasn’t long ‘till the Bushman returned,
With ropes and his trusty chestnut horse,
They tied and swung them over nearby trees,
And securely to the sleigh of course!

After lowering down the last kangaroo,
They slowly lowered Santa’s sleigh,
Tended all the kangaroo’s injuries,
‘Fore Santa went up upon his way.

Soon ’twas Christmas eve,
And snuggled by the fireplace,
The Bushman and his beloved lady,
Were discussing Santa’s big worldwide race.

When from overhead they heard crystal clear:
‘HO HO HO HO HELLO! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU,
BUSHMAN, THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP,
IN MAKING DREAMS WORLD WIDE COME TRUE!’

The Bushman’s Lady sat watching in disbelief,
As presents then appeared beneath their tree,
Whilst sounds of sleigh bells rang through the sky,
Filling the surrounding bushland with magic and glee.

Cat in the Christmas Tree.

There ‘twas a cat stuck in the Christmas tree on a Sunday afternoon,
Tangled in tinsel and twisted amongst lights,
Looking much like a furry festive baboon,
Yet on they rolled and fumbled away,
‘Till the daylight started to wane from the day.

Come midnight all the baubles had fallen near everywhere,
From this poor felines reenactment of a sparkly crocodile roll,
Though it be much less muddy and imbue their own distinctively furry flare,
Creating a not so magical sight for owners soon to behold,
Whom would have an interesting new Christmas story to one day be told.

Still on the feline wriggled around, trying to get itself free,
From the fairy lights and strands of sparkly tinsel,
And other decor designed to fill one with magical Christmas glee,
‘Till they were ready to just accept that for the near future they would be stuck,
Thus meowing a wish that their exploration had never run amok…

Next thing a thud could clearly be heard,
From outside the room the mischievous cat was imprisoned,
Followed by which a doorknob or three was turned,
Then entering before the distressed tangled cat,
Was a large man in red, wearing a Pom Pom trimmed hat.

Saint Nick looked at that little cat, all engulfed in a mess of lights and tinsel,
Thinking a mere moment before announcing in a soothing voice,
‘Relax now my little friend, get you out in a mere moment I will.’
Then in the time it took for dear old Santa to scratch an itch on his nose,
The tangles untwisted and the mess tidied itself whilst the cat landed gratefully upon it's furry little toes!

Festive Season

'Tis once again the festive season,
Time for family, festivities 'n' cheer,
Celebrations bringing a fun end,
To yet another enormous year.

A time for Seasons Greetings,
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year too,
The shops are stocked with tinsel,
And gift options for me and you.

Decorations are being put up,
At homes all round the town,
Families are planning holidays,
There are few sporting a frown.

Relaxation and fun are intended,
By most at this merry time of year,
However some just work on thru,
'N' some don't like festive cheer.

So bring forth all the tinsel, lights,
Delectable Food, and festivities,
Shopping, gift giving, fireworks,
And some religious activities.

Whether you celebrate Hanukkah,
Kwanzaa, Christmas or the years end,
Embrace the festive season relaxing,
For 'tis Seasons Greetings we send.

Halloween Fun!

Every year on All Hallows' Eve it's said,
People celebrate magic, and the dead,
Carving pumpkins and trick or treating,
Horror stories send imaginations fleeting,
Costumes, parties, prayers for those past,
Whilst pranksters have a horrific blast.

Mischief and magic are all in the air,
Making most stop and surprisedly stare,
There be ghosts, witches, goblins too,
Out to be fun, spooky and scare a few,
Jack'o'lanterns are carved and well lit,
Spooking all till the flames finally quit.

There's children going door to door,
Collecting lots of sweet treats galore,
Some look sweet, others a bit scary,
Just a basic sheet or a werewolf hairy,
All having plenty of Halloween fun,
Till bed time when it's all over, done.

Candles and lanterns are lit to recall,
Loved ones that are passed, of us all,
Some say this is a time they come visit,
Be they a gentle spirit or rather explicit,
It certainly would be one scary night,
For living who experience such a plight.

So whether you go bobbing for an apple,
Or in DIY craft and lanterns you dabble,
Be prepared for someone to at least try,
To make you jump surprised as you go by,
Perhaps it be a movie to give you a fright,
Either way, enjoy yourself this Halloween night!

’Tis the Festive Season!

Pudding, turkey, ham and pie,

’tis the festive season that is nigh,

Tinsel, garland and candy canes,

Join light strings in window panes,

Shopping centres hum with sound,

As great gifts are trying to be found.

***

Santa Clauses in displays are placed,

As a glittering festive atmosphere is faced,

Catchy music now constantly playing,

Whilst some family and friends all come staying,

Christmas trees are up and decorated,

For some, hiding may be contemplated.

***

As Christmas magic fills the air,

It’s spirit creeping in most everywhere,

Songs, laughter, smiling children’s faces,

Mistletoe hung around near fireplaces,

Festive decorations are near and far,

There’s even reindeer antlers on the car.

***

Holiday festivities fast on the rise,

Makes some give stressed or joyous cries,

Feasts, games, decor and lights,

Siblings caught up in holiday fights,

Summer sun or white winter snow,

Festive parties and barbecues are go,

Outdoor activities are all a rage,

Creating holiday fun for any age!
