A Poetic Moment Pondering A Childs Ability to Reveal Elements of Their Adulthood to Come…

Daily writing prompt
When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Often when one is a young child their views on our world are skewed,
Perceived through their pure lens of innocent ignorance,
Yet so many set goals for their future though ‘tis incomprehensible,
Often with pressure from adults whom know of the insecurities illusioned as the futures dance.

Yet as seeming innocent as the ‘what do you want to be’ question can be,
’Tis interesting to see the accuracy of a child’s prediction of their future,
For whilst a child may not become the zookeeper they answered so adamantly,
They may still end up caring and guiding a multitude of chaotic/misunderstanding beings through each days overture...

For though there may be those that choose a path and evolve along it near to a tee,
Not venturing astray too far from perfect alignment with pride infused glee,
A lot seem to choose something opposite or that which has a strikingly similar/parallel quality,
Rather than the exact occupation that may lie ahead for them beyond childhoods lea…

Now while at some point during ones childhood ones core concept ’tis often revealed,
Though most can go their whole lives never knowing its existence for the mundane keeps it well concealed,
A writer for instance shall often have created an array of works in word,
Whilst a musician’s love of tune’s is refined in moments never to ever be heard…

As even a child with epic dreams of being a successful engineer,
May find themselves building the solid foundations to something equally held dear,
For even those whom seem lost often find their way back to the quintessentially hidden elements,
Which we all have guiding our paths flow through life’s many unpredictable moments.

Stories of Our Earth

As a feather falls unto the earth after falling from so very high,
It’s journeys far from over for a new one ’tis soon nigh…
Whilst it may be carried on the breeze for a little while,
Down a stream and to a child's hand in such a graceful style,
One cannot help but wonder what it’s lifetime held before,
All the sights the bird experienced creating the energetic stories it may have in store…

For a growing number now know our world is energetic,
And that some have ways to discover the too often tragic,
Stories of the world around us in various ways,
Through items such as feathers should they to us their stories convey,
Though elements at times are lost to translations art,
Filtered through the perspective of those ’tis to impart…

For ’tis far from just the energetic stories of our earth that in this way are effected…
Our perspectives are our entire life views being selectively projected,
Into every moment we walk in this world and elements in our time beyond,
For we leave fragments everywhere like breadcrumb notes of our life’s song!
Like clues in a treasure hunt for those in the future to find,
All the stories that make up our lives that we’ve left trailing behind.

Thus one need only a feather to uncover the story of a bird,
Whom Soared above clouds ’n’ up before any other creature stirred;
The leaf of a tree through it’s perspective up rather high;
Or a pebble to unveil what it’s noted going on nearby…
The key to it all is to just learn to listen and feel,
Then take note of what you may not realise is actually real!
